Tasting Notes: Ripe Granny Smith apple, crème brulee, sea salt and almond aromas make up the nose. Flavors of ripe melon and apple fill out the palate and finish with a balance of white fruit, minerality, and almond notes.
Romance Copy: Our 2014 Assemblage is a fusion of diversity. Contributing to the dance is a blend of Espiguette 352, Dijon 76 and Draper clones grown at Panner-Hanson Vineyards in the south in harmony with Dijon clones 76 and 95 from Durant Vineyards in the north.
The perfectly ripe clusters were hand selected and harvested from each vineyard and carefully blended together to create this limited production Chardonnay revealing the multifaceted flavors of Oregon.
Our Assemblage Chardonnay was aged sur lie (on the lees) for six months in a blend of 100% neutral French oak and stainless steel. The stirring of the barrels, a process known as bâttonage, was carefully performed weekly. These artisanal winemaking techniques add a dimension of creaminess, texture and complexity to the mouthfeel while maintaining the wonderful aromas and flavors of the fruit.
