A Tribute to our Southern Italian Heritage!
The fruit in this wine is a blend of 43% Barbera, 43% Sangiovese and 14% Nebbiolo aged in 35% new French oak barrels for 22 months. The fruit was hand harvested during a cool mid-October morning and delivered to the winery where the fruit was hand sorted and then destemmed and placed in small bins to cold soak until fermentation began with the indigenous yeast provided by nature in the vineyard. After a series of manual punch downs, the wine was pressed, settled and transferred to 100% French oak barrels where primary and ML fermentations were naturally completed.
We created this wine in honor of our family’s Southern Italian heritage and the incredible genuine hospitality and culinary favorites found in that region, and as a result of the fond memories of a family visit there forty years ago, the inspiration for our tasting room and its surroundings began…and continue to this day.
